Shineethia Denise Johnson Franks, affectionately known as “NeNe”, was born March 24, 1970 in Mobile, Alabama. She departed this life, to be with her Heavenly Father, on Wednesday, July 25, 2018.
Shineethia worked as a Certified Nurse Assistant for many years and managed several 24/7 Coin Laundromats. She was a faithful member of Nazaree Full Gospel Church. She was well known for her no-nonsense approach to protect her family.
Shineethia was preceded in death by her father: Clyde Jimmie Johnson, Sr.; brothers: Claude and Emmanuel Johnson and brother-in-law: Roy Dale, Sr.
She will remain forever in the hearts of her long-time companion and husband of 30 years: Carlos Lorenzo Franks, whom she referred to as “Honey”; mother: Clara J. Armstead Johnson; mother-in-law: Hattie Mae Webb; her children: LaDeidra, Shaneidra, Carlos, Lorenzo, and Carlton Johnson, Christopher Coker (Tiffany); grandchildren: Mikkyah Blackston, Christopher Jones, Caleb Jones, Carleah Jones, Christopher Coker, Jr., and Aaliyah Coker; brothers: Curtis, Clyde Jr., John, Elbert Johnson; brothers-in-law: Eddie Johnson, Alexander Franks, and Chato Washington; sister: Cynthia Dale; sisters-in-law: Faye & Janie Johnson; sons-in-law: Christopher Jones & Mikkhel Blackston; devoted cousins: Komeni Young & Kendra Jenkins; friends: Ursula Smith, Gail Taylor, Franchester Thomas, TaShay Walton, Dora Kennell, and Joanie Robinson; as well a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Her remains will lie in state on Friday, August 3, 2018, 2018 from 5-8pm at Small’s Mortuary, Mobile.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2018 from 10am until the 12pm funeral hour at Nazaree Full Gospel, 1695 West I-65 Service Road, Mobile. Interment will follow in Gethsemane North Cemetery, Eight Mile, Alabama.
