Obituary for Sylvester Square Sr.

“His Lord said unto him well done, thou good and faithful servant: Thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: Enter thou unto the joy of the Lord. (Matthew 25:21).

Mr. Sylvester (“Buck”) Square, Sr., Born March 2, 1954 in Mobile, Alabama. On Monday, February 3, 2020, our wise and merciful God called a loving soul home to rest.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Freddie and Delores Square; a brother, Freddie Square, Jr.; two sisters, Annie Delores (Peaches) and Cora Square.
He attended the public schools in Mobile, Alabama and was a graduate of Williamson High School and also Carver State Technical College. At an early age he confessed his faith in Jesus Christ and joined Delaware Street Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Bennie Zachary. He then became a member of Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Willie C. McNeil where he attended until his health began to fail.
He was united in holy matrimony to Patricia Pettway Square of 44 years. This union was blessed with three beautiful children.
He was a family man; a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and brother-n-law. He was generous, humorous, empathetic and very supportive. He was loved by many. He loved sports and had his favorite teams: Collegiate Football -Alabama; NFL-Pittsburgh Steelers; and NBA-Los Angeles Lakers. He was an avid card player of spades and pluck. He enjoyed entertaining family and friends with summertime cookouts.
