Obituary for Tencie Leigh Wilcox

TENCIE LEIGH WILCOX
JUNE 8, 1977 - JULY 31, 2022

On July 31, 2022 the Angel of God Whispered: “You have fought a good fight, You have kept the faith, The battle is fought and the VICTORY IS WON; Tencie, come now and take your rest.”

 
Tencie Leigh Wilcox, a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, Alabama was born on June 8, 1977 to the union of Arthur William and Henrie Mae Wilcox, Sr. She departed this earthly life on Sunday, July 31, 2022 peacefully at her home.
 
Until her illness, Tencie was a devoted and faithful member of the Saint Luke Missionary Baptist Church. She served with the Matron Department where she was the 2006 Matron of the Year. Tencie also served on the Youth Council, the Young Adult Choir, served in the kitchen and other capacities of the church.
 
Tencie was a 1995 graduate of Lillie B. Williamson High School where she was in the Future Homemakers of America Club. She was a Debutante in the 1995 Port City Christian Cotillion, Lady in Waiting of the 1999 Queens Royal Court of the Queens Royal Court of the Mobile Area Mardi Gras Association.
 
Tencie worked at Cumulus Broadcasting and later at WERM Radio as Receptionist. She was a huge LSU Geaux Tigers Fan and New Orleans Saints Fan.
 
Tencie was preceded in death by her loving parents, Arthur William and Henrie Mae Wilcox, Sr.; her brother, 1SG Anthony Lawrence Wilcox, Sr.; and her sister, Angela Denise Wilcox-Jackson.
 
Tencie leaves to cherish her precious memories, two devoted brothers: Arthur William Wilcox Jr. of Federal Way, WA and Charles E. Wilcox of Mobile, AL; one devoted sister, Veronica (Dwight) MaGee of Atlanta, GA; aunts: Lavaron Lutin Graham, Inell (Phillip) Bush, Nancy Lee, Ida Mae Jackson and Annie Bell Hunter; uncle, William A. Wilcox, Sr.; devoted nephew and great-nephew: James A. Wilcox and Anthony LeCarl Wilcox; god-sister, Chizelle T. Archie; devoted cousin, Altha Coleman; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends; close friends: Nicky Isaac, Chelsea White-Blackston and many more.
