Obituary for Valerie Bonner Young Moore

Valerie Jane Bonner Young Moore was born to the union of George Lee and Rosie Lee Bonner on September 16, 1954. She exchanged this life for her heavenly wings on Friday, October 5, 2018.
Valerie received her education at Williamson High School, graduating in 1972. She also attended S.D. Bishop State Community College where she finished with an Associate Degree in 1997.
Valerie’s Christian Education began at Lily Baptist Church. She continued her Christian journey under the tutelage of various pastors at Revelation Missionary Baptist Church, Joy Bible Church, Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, and finally at New Day Ministries Church.
Most importantly in Valerie’s life was her relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, her Savior. She was an unapologetic praiser and worshiper. She believed the Word and she lived the Word. She would worship the Lord with thanksgiving, even if she had to do all by herself. She was relentless in her desire to learn God’s Word; teach God’s Word; minister to others with her testimonies; and praise Him with her voice, tambourine, and her spirit!
Valerie’s life will be celebrated, and her memory will be cherished by her two brothers: Freddie Lee Bonner and George Lee (Artelia) Bonner. She left a legacy of life, love, and laughter through her four children: LaTiffiney Young Duncan, her husband Edward Duncan, Jr., along with their two children and granddaughter; Rufus Young, Jr., his wife LaTonya, and his eight children; Mark R. Moore, his wife Zemeriah, and their two and a half children; and Fontello F. Moore and his wife Maiya. She will also be missed by her nieces, Tamera (Tommy) McInnis, Taiwan Bonner, Jasmine (Julius) Alexander, Erika Bonner, and numerous god children, cousins, relatives, and friends.
Valerie’s memory will live on as we remember her for her humor, her candor, and her joyful spirit!
Services will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 11:00 at Knollwood Assembly of God, 1501 Knollwood Drive, Mobile, AL 36609 with Pastor John F. Payne, Sr. officiating.
