Velaria Hudson Wallace, age 96, a native of Marengo County, Alabama, and a lifelong resident of Mobile, Alabama, died in God’s loving care on December 20, 2018.

Velaria was preceded in death by her parents, Eli and Zella (née Norwood) Hudson; four brothers, Eli Hudson, Ervin Hudson, James C. Hudson, and Theodore Hudson; and eight sisters, Massie Lockett, Rosie Lee Holt, Mary Coleman, Truly Grayson, Olivia Dixon, Pearl Jones, Lula, and Vera Hudson.

She leaves to cherish her memories one devoted sister, Fan Dean Hudson of Mobile, one sister-in-law, Bessie Pearl Kennedy Hudson of Mobile, Alabama; and 5 nieces, Ruby Lee Rodgers of Sweetwater, Alabama, Mammie (Howard) Evans, Bertha Lee Field of New York, Florence Adoo of Birmingham, Alabama, and Pamela (Curtis) Cooks of Mobile, Alabama; and 8 nephews, J.T. (Bernice) Hudson, Sylvester (Sharon) Hudson, Aaron (Bernadette) Hudson, Sr., Glenn Hudson, James Lockett, Jerome (Sharon) Roberts, all of Mobile, Alabama, Ervin (Delilah) Hudson of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Eli Lockett of Georgia; and a host of great and great-great nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
