Obituary for Wendell Boris Lafitte, Sr

Wendell Boris Lafitte was born to the late Mr. Herbert and Lillian Lafitte on January 10, 1961 in Plateau (Africatown) Alabama. He departed this life Sunday, January 17, 2021.
Wendell accepted Christ at an early age and was a member at Yorktown Baptist Church in the Plateau Community. He graduated from C.F. Vigor High School Class of 1979. He was very active and enjoyed participating in their yearly functions. Wendell worked for the Mobile County Public School System as an Environmental Custodian. He was also a member of the Shell Bayou Elks Lodge #361.
He is preceded in death by his brothers: Ronald, Fredrick, Wayne and Derrick Lafitte.
He leaves to cherish his memories with his devoted and loving children: Shantrice Blackmon, LaToya (Marcas) Collins, Kendrick (Rycquel) Lafitte, Wendell Lafitte, Jr., Jeremy Maiben, and Ronald Dixon; one bonus daughter, LaQuandra Oates; grandchildren: Christopher Blackmon, Marcas Collins, II, Kaslyn Maiben and Raelee Lafitte; and three bonus grandchildren: Julius, Trey’von and Kenadie; one uncle, Frank Gray, Jr.
Wendell was the center of love for his family. He leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. One devoted niece, Sabrina Lewis; and one devoted cousin, Deborah Knight. He truly shined his light on all his love ones and his presence was always known.
