He was actively involved in alumni chapters for both Grambling, Alabama State and Central High School. When ready to begin his work career he joined the faculty of Williamson High School. He worked at Williamson for thirty-four years teaching history, coaching sports and impacting the lives of students. After retiring, often during outings he would see former students and enjoyed talking with them about the good old days at Williamson! His interest included sports, Central High School Class activities, and cooking. He was often found in the kitchen whipping up a variety of tasty dishes. He enjoyed holidays and family gatherings. He loved to laugh, had a megawatt smile and huge personality. He was quick to share words of advice, inspiration and encouragement. William set an example for family to be their best, to love and cherish family. William leaves to cherish his memories a devoted wife of fifty-four years, Katherine Callier; son, Marquin Callier; daughters: Sonsherraye Gowder and Olivetti aka Gina (Elliott); grandchildren: Tarrick Cobb, Chantelle, Nicolle and Brandyn Callier, Jade Womack and William Vassell; great grandaughter, Kendyl Cobb; nephew, Juan Morris; niece, Donna (Theo); cousins: Patricia Allen, Arementha Callier and Clara Chestang; and a host of other relatives and good friends.
