Sis. Jessie Lee Brown born June 2, 1946 to the union of Robert and Jelene Reese. A native of Dallas County, Alabama and a longtime resident of Theodore, Alabama. She answered God's call on Friday, April 20, 2018 and moved from her earthly residence to her heavenly home.
She retired from Providence Hospital after 26 years of dedicated service. She was a faithful member of Mt. Ararat Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. B.J. Parker and later Dr. Howard L. Nelson, Sr.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 52 years; Johnny Brown, Sr., her parents, Robert and Jelene Reese, and four brothers: James Reese, Clarence Reese, Henry Reese, and Ernest Reese, two sisters: Mattie B. Reese and Daisy Collins.
She leaves to cherish 3 devoted sons, Johnny Brown, Jr., Jeffrey(Shar) Brown, and Anthony(Stephanie) Brown, all of Mobile, Alabama, two brothers, Willie(Willie Mae) Reese, Willie Earl(Evelyn) Reese all of Selma, Alabama, 2 brothers in-law: James Brown of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Charles Brown of Pensacola, Florida, one sister, Bernadine(Billy Jo) Slay of Selma, Alabama, 4 sisters in-law: Lillie Mae Millhouse, of Wilmington, North Carolina, Georgia M. Reese, of Mobile, Alabama, Corine Brown, of Pensacola, Florida, and Annie Mae Brooks, of Seattle, Washington,
9 grandchildren, 2 great- grandchildren, a host of nieces 1 devoted niece: Dorothy Reese-Broadnax, many other devoted nephews, cousins, family and friends.
Her remains will lie in state Friday, April 27, 2018 at Small's Mortuary, Theodore after 3 pm until 8 pm and Saturday, April 28, 2018 after 10 am until 12 noon funeral hour Mt. Ararat Baptist Church, 5201 Washington Blvd., Dr. Howard L. Nelson, Sr., Pastor. Interment will follow in the Lawn Haven Cemetery.
