The Mobile Bay Area Walk to End Alzheimer's

This year 52 members of the Small’s Mortuary participated as a team to honor those suffering and survivors of Alzheimer’s they were sponsors of the promise garden.

The Mobile Bay Area Walk to End Alzheimer's was held in Bienville Square in Mobile. Mobile Bay area residents along with 52 members of Small’s Mortuary braved the 90 degree heat to show support for the cause. All funds raised through the Walk to End Alzheimer's furthers the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association. On Walk day, participants receive a wristband. Each registered walker with a wristband gets a Promise Garden flower.

Each flower's color represents a different connection to Alzheimer's disease:
  • Blue represents someone with Alzheimer's or dementia.
  • Purple is for someone who has lost a loved one to the disease.
  • Yellow represents someone who is currently supporting or caring for someone with Alzheimer’s.
  • Orange is for everyone who supports the cause and vision of a world without Alzheimer’s.
