Mrs. Annie Mae Yates Waller (age 89), a resident of Mobile, Alabama and New Orleans, La. passed away on Friday, August 10, 2018 at Mobile Infirmary Hospital. Mrs. Waller had been a resident with the Mobile Housing Board properties on Marmotte Street (1959-2005) and Raven Drive from 1959 to her passing. Mrs. Waller attended Owens, Dunbar and Central schools in Mobile. Mrs. Waller received Christ at an early age, was baptized at the Aimwell Baptist Church, served on the usher board and was a member of the choir. She worked in various businesses in both Mobile and New Orleans in 1950s. In elderly years, Annie was an active member/participate with Mercy Life on Springhill Avenue. Mrs. Waller loved good cooking, Mardi Gras festivals and all Holidays each year. She was a loving mother who liked travel.
She is proceeded in death by her beloved grandmother-guardian (Annie Simon Yates) ,an infant daughter (Patricia), and husbands (James Waller and Norman Nettles, Sr). Many other persons of her exteMrsnded family (both from Mobile and New Orleans whom were close and loving), have proceeded her in passing.
Mrs. Waller leaves behind her devoted children: Shirley Ann Nettles (Atlanta, Ga); Norman Nettles, Jr (Mobile); Nathaniel Nettles (Mobile); and her devoted grandson, Corey Marcel Derhan Nettles of (Atlanta). Mrs. Waller viewing is 12 noon- 2 pm. Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Small’s Mortuary at 950 Broad Street, Mobile, Al. Her going away service will begin at 2 p.m. at Small’s with Mr. Bolton, M.Div./Chaplain of Mercy Life leading prayers with her internment at Gethsemane Cemetery North on Shelton Beach Road.
