Gibbs, Woodrow Jr. passed away at a local hospital on Friday February 3rd, 2017 at the age of 70. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Bertha Gibbs. Beloved father of Terrence (Leticia) Gibbs, Carlton (Marla) Gibbs, Martin (Elaine) Gibbs. Proud grandfather of eleven and Great Grandfather of eight. Preceded in death by brothers Wesley Gibbs and Albert Gibbs. Survived by brothers: Nathaniel (Bessie) Gibbs and Clark Gibbs. Sisters: Cathy(Alphonso)Brady and Brenda(Ronnie)Ford. Sisters -in-law: Brenda White, Ella McCord, Massie (Charles) Ruffin, Cynthia (James) Rankins, Earnestine Peart and Jackie Gibbs. Brothers-in-law: Joseph (Betty)Smith, Larry Smith, Frankie (Wanda) Smith, Donnie(Sondra) Smith, Duvincent Smith, Timothy Smith and a host of aunts,uncles,nieces,nephew and friends. The son of the late Woodrow and Bealuh Gibbs. Woodrow was vested in his family, community and church. Those who knew him called him faithful and dependable. Woodrow was chairman of the deacons board at Ebenezer Baptist Church. Retired supervisor at Desussa and Mobile Community Action. Viewing will be Friday February 10th from 1pm-5pm at Small's Mortuary. Mr. Gibbs remains will lie in state on Saturday February 11th at 10am until 11am funeral service at Ebenezer Baptist Church. Interment at Ebenezer cemetery.

His remains will lie in state 1-8pm Friday, February 10, 2017 at Small’s Mortuary, Mobile. A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2017 from 9am until the 11am funeral hour at the Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, 5051 Ebenezer Drive, Mobile, AL. Interment will follow in the Ebenezer Cemetery, Mobile, AL.
