Leroy P. Collins, Sr. a beloved resident of Mon Luis Island, born May 26, 1928 departed this life on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at his home. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Leroy worked as a merchant marine from the early age of 16 until his retirement. He leaves to mourn four loving and devoted children, Leroy P. Collins, Jr. (Helen) Mon Luis Island, Diane J. Duggin (Andre) Malvern, PA, Raymond (Ray) Collins Mon Luis Island, and JoAnn C. Jenkins (Frank) Oak Hill, VA; five grandchildren Tiffany Hines (Jason), Tiana Collins, Julian Duggin (Heather), Christian Jenkins, Nicole Jenkins; four great grandchildren, Laiah Hines, Van Hines, Juliana Duggin and Hailey Duggin; one sister, Mildred Brown; one sister-in-law, Mary Belle Mc Laughlin; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, family and friends.

His remains can be viewed at Small's Mortuary, 950 South Broad Street, Mobile, AL on Sunday, March 19 from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, March 20th at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 2951 Durette Ave., Mon Luis Island. Visitation at 9:00 a.m., Rosary 10:30a.m. Monsignor Leonardo Guadalquiver will celebrate the Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.
