Raquel E.  Johnson
Sister Raquel Elizabeth Johnson, the beloved daughter of Carrie Yates and the late Samuel L. Johnson was born November 30, 1971. She departed this life on Monday, March 20, 2017.

Raquel was a devoted and faithful member of New Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. She served on the Usher Ministry, member of the Mass Choir and worked diligently with the Vacation Bible School children class ages 4-6 years old.

She was a graduate of LeFlore High School in 1990. She was a loyal and dedicated employee for the Mobile Community Action-Family Service Worker Head Start for 15 years, and a coach for Peter’s Park Cheer Leader Program for 6 years.

She leaves to cherish her memory a loving and devoted mother, Carrie Yates; step-father, Robert Yates; two son’s, Douglas and Ja-Queal Jones; one grand son, Master Jameay L. Carter, Mobile, AL; two god-children, Aaliyah Tucker and Arion Whittle, Mobile, AL.

One devoted brother, Samuel L. (Christine) Johnson, Asheboro, NC; two uncles, Tyrone Johnson, Mobile. AL and Donald Johnson, Laplace, LA; four aunts, Brenda (Thomas) Bush, West Memphis, AK, Sandra (Ezekiel) Cook, Debra (Ronnie) Langham, Philis Gibbs, Gary Lamar (Pam) William all of Fairhope, AL and Ronnie William, Atlanta, GA.; A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Her remains will lie in state on Friday, March 31, 2017 from 5-8pm at Small's Mortuary, Mobile. A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2017 from 9am until the 11am funeral hour at New Shiloh MB Church,2756 Old Shell Road, Mobile.

Interment will follow in the Gethsemane North Cemetery, Eight Mile, AL.
