Morris Edward Chaney , a native of Mobile, AL, departed this life on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at a local hospital. He was a faithful member of the Holmes Street Missionary Baptist Church until his illness.
Morris was preceded in death by his grandparents, M.C. and Lydia Harper; brother, Jerry Chaney; grandson, Antwuan Demarian Armstead.

He leaves to cherish his memories his father and mother, Scott and Dorothy Carstarphen; 2 children, Antwuan Armstead and Lydia Chaney; 3 grandchildren, Ayden, Xavier, and Xaria; 3 brothers, Demetrius Crawford, Anthony Chaney of Vallejo, CA, and Scott Carstarphen, Jr.; 4 sisters, Faye Christian, Beverly (James) Donald, Felisha Fleeton, and Venessa (Kevin) Cunningham; a host of other relatives and friends.

His remains will lie in state 5-8pm on Friday, January 5, 2018 at Small’s Mortuary, Mobile.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2018 from 9am until the 11am funeral hour at Holmes Street Missionary Baptist Church, 314 Max Street, Prichard, Alabama, Reverend Keithrum Leatherwood, Pastor. Interment will be held at 10am on Monday, January 8, 2018 in the Alabama State Veterans Cemetery, Spanish Fort, Alabama.
