Obituary for Shirley Ann Bell

Shirley Ann Bell was born September 28, 1946 in Mobile, AL to the late Thomas Allen, Sr. and Evelyn Jackson Miles. She graduated from Central High School in 1964. She graduated from Bishop State Community College in 1995 with an Associate Degree in Science. She worked at Searcy Hospital for many years until the facility closed. She worked at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center in Rotary until she retired in 2005 because of health issues. She has lived in Mobile the majority of her life. She lived in Citronelle, AL where she was a member of Mt. Zion A.M.E. Zion Church. When she moved back to Mobile she was a member of New Life Ministries until her death. She was a great cook and an amazing seamstress. Both she did until she was physically unable to do them. Above all she loved her family. To know her is to love her.

She was preceded in death by her brother: Richard Allen, Sr. and one brother in law: Albert Coale, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband: John I. Bell; three children: Charles (Kena) Graham, Myrna (John) Bell and Treasa Gordon; one step daughter: Evelyn Bell; ten grandchildren: Sherrelle Trammell, Dana Graham, Jamaal Graham, Ikeem Colvin, Erin (Sam) Boldon, Detrick Graham, Jamal Jackson, Kaleb Jackson, Kadyn Jackson and Amber Bell; (from her first marriage to the late Edward Graham she has two stepdaughters: Patricia Jackson and Joyce McCall; three grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren); thirteen siblings: Edna Mae Graham, Thomas (Loretta) Allen, Jr., William (Pearl) Allen, Evelyn Coale, Darrel (JoAnn) Allen, Cornelius Allen, Sr., Josalyn Lofton, Robert Allen, Zacharias Allen, Sr., Terry (Shelethia) Allen, Bernadette (Frank) McCovery, Annette Allen and Carzetta Allen; five inlaws: Ella (Curtis) Clerkley, Otis (Betty) Bell, Annie Hatfield, Troy (Glenda) Bell and Gerald (Vanessa) Bell and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018 from 10am until the 11am funeral hour at Highpoint Baptist Church, 2421 Lott Rd Eight Mile, AL 36613, Rev. Michael Pierce will officiate.
