Elder John Edward Anderson a native of Daphne, Alabama was born to the late Eugene Alvin and Bernice Helen Anderson on March 22, 1951. John graduated from high school in 1969 from the Baldwin County Training school in Daphne, Alabama. He was married to the love of his life, Amelia (Lee) Anderson on May 19, 1990. The two shared twenty-eight years of precious life together.

At an early age, John became a member of Pine Grove C.M.E. church in Daphne, Alabama until moving to Youngstown, Ohio. Until his retirement, John worked for Ingalls Shipbuilding Company in Pascagoula, Mississippi. He was well known in the community. John was a lovable person. He loved his family and many friends.

The life John lived spoke of the commitment he made in serving god and his family. He was truly a man, who loved his family. He was faithful and devoted to each of them until the Lord called him home on June 19, 2018. He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Anderson, sister Delores Anderson and grandson LaQualle Dailey.

John leaves to cherish beautiful memories, a loving and devoted wife, Amelia Anderson; seven children to include, two sons, John Anderson of Daphne, Alabama and Calvin Anderson of Fairhope, Alabama; five daughters, Lisa Anderson and Tonya Anderson both of Loxley, Alabama, TaShanda Matthews of Mobile, Alabama, Erical Tolbert of Warren, Ohio and Jameca Dailey of Robertsdale, Alabama; one brother, Reverend Michael (Felisha) Anderson of Bay Minette, Alabama; five sisters, Amy Jean Stallworth of Daphne, Alabama, Delma Hooks of Bromley, Alabama, Myria Anderson of Spanish Fort, Alabama, Lydia Anderson and Yolanda (Iran) Bolar both of Loxley, Alabama; one uncle, James Ross of Detroit, Michigan; two sisters-in-law, Alice McCaskey of Loxley, Alabama and Margaret Small of Gainesville, Florida; one brother-in-law, Anthony Lee of Fairhope, Alabama; one god-daughter, Takiah Baker and two god-sons, Dominique Woodward and Charles Jenkins; a very devoted cousin whom he loved as a brother, Minister Lemuel Thomas; two devoted friends, Eunice Smith and Frankie Knight. John was also blessed with a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Monday, June 25, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. until the 12:00 p.m. funeral hour at McGhee Temple of God in Christ, 500 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Bay Minette, AL 36507. Interment will follow in Friendship Cemetery, Daphne AL.
