Bishop David Russell Eldell was born March 8, 1935 to Julius and Cecelia (Paula) Eldell. He is the last surviving child and was preceded in death by his parents and 19 siblings. He departed this life, Friday February 23, 2018 in Mobile, AL at a local hospital surrounded by family and friends. David was joined in holy matrimony to Cora E. English (Mobile, AL) on June 20, 2009. They shared a blessed beautiful life of love and enjoyment for eight and a half wonderful years.

He became an active member of the Wabasso Church of God at the age of 14. He was led by God to start and Pastor The Cypress Street Church of God, Okeechobee, FL until his retirement and return back to the Wabasso Church under the Leadership of Pastor John Thorne. He later moved to Mobile, AL with his wife and became a member of the New Community Church of God In Christ, under the Leadership of Elder Albert Lee, with the now Pastor Charles Archie.

He leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted wife, Cora E. English-Eldell, one step daughter Johnnica E. Watson, two grandsons; Johnathan Chrishaun Watson-Smith and Corey Anthony Dodds (His Little Buddy), three sister-in-laws Mary (Alton) Beard; Sarah Hodges (James Jackson) both of Mobile, AL and Barbara Harden of Fort Lauderdale, FL; Devoted God daughters Valerie Lemons and Aloni Simran Davida Forte, Vero Beach, FL; Jennifer Russell of Mobile, AL; Godsons David Dawkins of Vero Beach, FL; Johnny Taylor of Fort Pierce, FL; a host of nieces (devoted; Mary Jefferson, Pearlie Mae Anderson, Cheryl Williams (Michael), Veronica Smith (Larry), and ("HIS BABY") Sylvia Brock of Vero Beach, FL, nephews (devoted ("HIS SON") Leroy Eldell Vero Beach, FL and ("HIS BOY") Kenneth Eldell(Marie) of Fort Meade, FL), cousins, other relatives, Church Family Wabasso Church of God, Former Co-Workers of Fulford Citrus Company and friends devoted Tandy Slaughter Fort Pierce, FL, Winifred Maiben, Eloise Starks, Nancy Jones, Carolyn Brown all of Mobile, AL; Ann and Tondalay Larkin of California City, CA.

His remain will lie in state 5-8pm Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Small’s Mortuary, Mobile. A visitation will be held on Friday, March 2, 2018 from 9am until the 11am funeral hour at New Community Church of God in Christ, 132 W. Turner Rd., Prichard, AL. Interment will follow in the Gethsemane North Cemetery, Eight Mile, AL.
