Sis. Maxine Nelson- was born August 23, 1968 to the late Vince Lee and Ina Lee Brown Powell, departed this life Monday, August 7, 2017.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Ben and Bedellia Powell and Strawder and Janie Dubose Brown, Sr.
She confessed Christ at an early age and joined Good Hope Baptist Church. She met and married the love of her life and joined Mt. Ararat Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher and secretary of the #3 Usher Board and a former member of the Mass Choir.
She leaves to cherish her memories a devoted husband of 25 years; Carlos Nelson, a beautiful daughter; Ysatis Dickinson-Nelson, 6 sisters; Sally (Gregory) Brown, Huntsville, Alabama, Emma (Ronnie) Richardson, Sr., Leroy, Alabama, Alice Williams, Huntsville, Alabama, Vince (Kevin) Arnold, Montgomery, Alabama, Vrenda (Karl) Parham, Sr., Huntsville, Alabama and Brenda (Johnnie) Poellnitz, Jackson, Alabama, parents-in-law; Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Nelson, 2 brothers-in-law; Chris (Sylvia) Nelson, DeAntonio (Courtni) Nelson, sister-in-law; Samaritan (Jerel) Brown, all of Theodore, Alabama.
A special aunt; Effie (Bishop Willie D.) Roberts, Wagarville, Alabama and a host of nieces, nephews, several godchildren, other relatives and friends one devoted friend; Wanda Robinson.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 12, 2017 after 9am until the 11am funeral hour Mt. Ararat Baptist Church, 5201 Washington Blvd. Theodore Alabama. Interment will folliw in the Lawn Haven Cemetery.
