Obituary for Martha Ann Page

Martha Ann Page
Apostle Martha Ann Fairley Page was born April 24, 1932 to the union of Walter and Julia Fairley in Summerdale, Alabama. She was a resident of Mobile, Alabama for many years. She peacefully slept away to go to her heavenly home and be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, September 11, 2017.

She was married to the late Luther Page, Jr., of Foley, Alabama. She was the founding pastor of the United Holiness Church in Mobile, Alabama for nearly 60 years.

Pastor Page began her journey through a very dear friend Esther Williams. She would encourage her to attend service with her at the Apostolic House of Prayer, where this powerful man of God Bishop E. L. Bryant was preaching the word of God. After refusing her many times, she finally decided to pay this church a visit. On that night, God had such an anointing in that place that it changed her life forever. She got saved and filled with the Holy Ghost. While under the leadership of Bishop Bryant, at the age of 27 she began her preaching journey. Her first sermon was “Them dry bones.”

Pastor Page later began her own ministry. She would have church on the highway, street corner, on a porch and where ever she felt lead to preach God’s Word. Bishop Redmond would stand “outside of the big apple,” and play his guitar while Pastor Page would preach and beat the bass drum with her foot at the same time. Pastor Page later rented a building on Davis Avenue for her first church service. This building later became Finley Drug Store. She then moved to a building on Bayou Street where she had many healing services.

Pastor Page was approached by Lizzie Thomas with concerns of beginning a holiness church ministry in Loxley, Alabama. She began with house and tent services. God blessed her to bring many to Christ in that area. But, she was still seeking for a new building in Mobile. She was told by Elder Samuel Smith about her current location at 102 N. Pine Street. After purchasing this building, God blessed her to be a beacon light in that area for more than 50 years. She would preach until the power of God came down like a mighty rushing wind. After moving in to the new Mobile location, sometime later her nephew, Charles Taylor built her a new edifice in the Loxley area. She served the people of God, until her body became too weak to continue.

Pastor Page’s ministry will reign for many years to follow. For she planted churches not only in Mobile and Loxley, Alabama, but she planted churches in places such as Carrington, Alabama with Evangelist Robert Fairley overseeing this ministry. She also planted a church in Newark, New Jersey with Minister Ethel Fairley Taylor overseeing this ministry. In her ministry she has licensed many preachers: Minister Alvin Fairley, Evangelist Robert Fairley, Overseer Samuel Fairley, Overseer Allen Fairley, Minister Ophelia McPherson, Minister Norvie Lee Pruitt, Minister Pete Hickbottom, Bishop Robert Brown, Minister Vaughn Houston, Minister Lorraine Houston, Minister Vesta Houston Fairley, Minister Beulah Lewis, Minister Margaret Mitchell, Minister Lizzie Lee Love, Minister Lindsey North, Minister Claude Brown and some that cannot be recalled. Through her ministry, many miracles and wondrous acts were performed through the aid of the Holy Ghost.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories a son, Larry Page and a daughter, Belva Page Graham. Her beloved grand children; Chris Koen, Angel Williams, Luther Page, Ashley Page, Brittany Page, Tabitha Murphy, and Rasheim Page. Great grand children; Christian Williams, Julian Williams and Rylie Page; her twin sister, Mary Bullard, Foley, AL and her sister Geneva Kidd, Seattle, Washington, one brother, George Parker, Foley, AL. Two sisters-in-law, Minister Vesta Fairley and Beverly Fairley; a devoted nephew, Elder David (Phyllis) Fairley, a special niece and nephew, Lisa Slack and Alphonse Slack; four godchildren, Fannie Redmond Longshaw, Lamata Carol, Shunta Brown, LaTrice McMillian and many nieces, nephews, cousins special friends, Jerry (Delphine) Law, and too many cherished and beloved friends of Pastor Martha Page to name.

Her remains will lie in state from 1-8pm on Friday, September 15, 2017.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, September16, 2017 from 9am until the 11am funeral hour at the Mobile Sunlight District Auditorium, 809 Seminary Street, Prichard, AL.

Interment will follow in Little Rock Cemetery, Foley, Alabama.
