Obituary for A Jeff Gamble

A. C. "Jeff" Gamble-- a native of Thomasville, AL., and a resident of Mobile, born January 30, 1920 departed this life Sunday, March 2, 2008 at a local healthcare facility. He was a member of Goodwill Church Ministries, where he served on the Senior Usher Board with pride. He retired from the Alabama State Docks, Local 1410 after thirty-two years of service. He was preceded in death by his mother, Cora Davidson, father, Columbus Gamble. He leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted wife, Claire Gamble, Mobile, two sons, Clint (Clemmie) Mixon, Sr., Chicago, IL., and Lindsey (Sonia) Mixon Sr., Fayetteville, NC., two daughters, Cassandra (Robert) Mitchell, Mobile and Kimberly Mixon, Montgomery, AL., two sisters, Rebecca May, Mobile and Margaret Crawford, both of Yonkers, NY., brother, Ladell Davidson, Yonkers, NY., he cherished his eight grands, Te' Isha, Clint Jr., Kente', Lindsey Jr., Demetrius, Shamyrra and Samuel Mixon, Deontae Mitchell, a caring sister-in-law, Gertrude Mixon Johnson, a host of nieces three devoted, Denise Pate, Kenetha Johnson, and Leazette Nicholson, all of Mobile, nephews, many friends and co-workers of the Alabama State Docks. His remains will lie in state at Small's Mortuary Friday, March 7, 2008 from 1-8pm and Saturday, March 8, 2008 after 9am until the 11am funeral hour Goodwill Church Ministries, Grant Ave. Interment Gethsemane Cemetery Mobile. Dignified and Professional services entrusted to SMALL'S MORTUARY, INC. 950 South Broad St., Mobile, AL.
