Obituary for Alberta Reed

Alberta Initta McConico Reed was born on February 7, 1934 to the late Ed McConico and Janie McConico Johnson in Battles Wharf, AL. She transitioned from this life to Life Eternal on Saturday, April 18, 2015 surrounded by her family. She leaves to cherish her memories, seven loving and devoted children, Minister Dwight Reed, Pastor Sankie(Brenda) Reed, Janet Reed-Cottrell, Sharlene(Louis) Barge, Alice(Don) Smith, Minister Felicia(Robert) Taylor, and Ricky(Tracy)Reed; twenty-one grandchildren; thirty-seven great-grandchildren; one very loving and devoted sister, Mary Alice Benson; three loving sisters-in-law, Ruth Reed, Bernice Bush and Eunice Clark; a host of nieces and nephews; one Godson, Darrin Houston, Jr.;devoted friends, Robert and Lula Pace, Marrietta Banks, Leanna Alphonse, Early Smith, Carrie Lee Jones, Mt. Gilead Church Family and many more. Mrs. Reed’s body will lie in state on Thursday, April 23, 2015 from 1:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Small’s Mortuary, Fairhope, AL. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 24, 2015 from 10:00 am until the 1:00 pm funeral hour at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 902 Daphne Ave., Daphne, AL service.
