Obituary for Alfred James Walker

Mr. Alfred James Walker a resident of Mobile, AL was born July 12, 1960 and exchange his earthly life for God’s promise of eternity on December 1, 2015. Alfred was a member of First Church of God in Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Damon Byrd, Margaret Walker Barnes, grandmother, Mary Walker and granddaughter, Brianna Pratt.

He leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted wife of 13 years, Brenda Ward Walker, five children; Ashley Kemp of Miami, FL, Quinten Kemp, Alfred (Brendolyn) Pratt, Derrick (Ronda) Ward and Marckezia Ward all of Mobile, AL; fourteen loving grandchildren; one sister, Debra Ann Bolden of Atlanta, GA; three brothers, Samuel (Katheryn) Osborne, Anthony Walker and Jerrod (Glenda) Crissom; one devoted aunt, Addie Walker; one devoted niece, Calandra Lalita Uko; one devoted great nephew, Izariah Jordon and one devoted cousin, Calvin Walker. There are many others with shared memories of Alfred, and those whose hearts have been touched by his presence.

His remains will lie in state on Friday, December 11, 2015 from 1pm until 8pm at Small’s Mortuary, Mobile, AL. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2015 from 9am until the 11am funeral hour at First Church of God in Christ, 1308 St. Stephens Rd. Mobile, AL. Interment will follow in Whispering Pines Cemetery, Eight Mile, AL.
