Obituary for Arnett Williams

Arnett D. Williams, a native of Bladon Springs, AL and a resident of Prichard, AL, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, November 19, 2009, after a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sydney and Mary Alice Davis, two sisters, Annie Pearl Jordan and Flora C. Davis and a son-in-law, Roderick ""Ricky"" Forde. She worked for years as a child care provider in her home before her employment with Mobile Infirmary Hospital, where she retired after twenty-six years of loyal and dedicated service. At an early age, Mrs. Williams accepted Christ and united with Goodwill Baptist Church of Bladon Springs, AL. After moving to Mobile, she joined the St. Joseph Baptist Church of Prichard. She was also a member of the Starlight Chapter 215 Order of Eastern Star, Silas, AL and later affiliated with the Jordan Pride Chapter #775 Order of Eastern Star, Prichard, AL. Sister Williams later united with the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church of Prichard under the pastorage of Rev. Norvel Glover. She is survived by her devoted husband of fifty-four years, Deacon L.C. Williams, two very caring and devoted daughters, Anita W. Forde and LaShaye W. Frye, two adoring grandchildren, Jessica Sims and Marcus Williams, five sisters, one devoted twin sister and best friend, Jennette Slater, Betty Davis and Dorothy (Jessie) Nicholes all of Mobile, AL, Ethel Campbell and Lula M. English, both of Pontiac, MI, three brothers, Ernestine (Carol) Davis of Prichard, AL, Sydney (Mary) Davis, Jr., of Ft. Walton, FL and Johnny E. Davis of Sacramento, CA, three sisters-in-law, Irma Williams, Louise Wood and Annie B. Davis, all of Mobile, AL, one devoted niece, Rose Craft of Dallas, TX, one devoted nephew, Willie Slater, Jr., of Prichard, AL. A host of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and church family whom she loved dearly. Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 25, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral hour at the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 505 Price Avenue, Prichard, Rev. Norvell Glover, pastor and officiating minister. The Eastern Star Burial Ceremony will be conducted at 10:15 a.m. Interment will follow in the Gethsemane Cemetery, Mobile Street. Dignified and professional services entrusted to Small's Mortuary, 950 S. Broad Street, Mobile, AL.
