Bertha Johnson "Georgia" Finch-a native of Marengo County, AL, and a resident of Mobile, AL, born July 18, 1947 to the late Annie Mae Merriweather and the late Richard Wingfield departed this life Friday, November 13, 2009 at her residence. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board. She was an employee of Mobile County Public School System serving at Burns Middle School. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Finch, Jr., brothers, Calvin Johnson and Richard Wingfield, Jr. She leaves to cherish her memories five loving and devoted children, Gregory Finch, Mobile, Jacqueline (Anthony) Williams, Savannah, GA, Thomas Finch, III, Kuwait City, Kuwait, Yvette (Donald) Lipscomb, Jacksonville, FL, Tiffany (Ronald) Finch-Ingram, Suffolk, VA, four grandchildren, Gregory Henderson, Ft. Drum, NY, Shelton Bryant, II, Savannah, GA, Ariel Clipper, Suffolk, VA, Tiffany Finch, New Mexico, two great-grandchildren, Gregory T. and Tangelia Henderson, Ft. Drum, NY, five brothers, Melvin Johnson, Birmingham, AL, Leon and Eddie Johnson, both of Demopolis, AL, Charlie Johnson, Pensacola, FL., Broderick Wingfield, Mobile, eight sisters, Dorothy Jean Johnson and Matilda Merriweather, Johnnie Mae Merriweather, all of Demoplois, AL., Gwen Morris, Birmingham, AL, Debra (Michael) Adams, Mitzi Wingfield, Mobile, AL. Sharon Crowel, san diego, CA, and Brigitte Tracy, Tallahassee, FL., a devoted cousin, Lizzie Todd, Mobile, AL a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Her remains will lie in state at Small's Mortuary Friday, November 20, 2009 from 1-8pm and Saturday, November 21, 2009 after 9am until the 11am funeral hour Small's Chapel, Interment will follow in the Lawn haven cemetery. Dignified and professional services entrusted to Small's Mortuary, 950 South Broad Street, Mobile, Alabama.
