Obituary for Bertha Smith

Bertha LeShore Smith, indigenous of Marengo County, Uniontown, Al. and a life-long resident of Theodore, Al.. After a long and patient wait doe the Lord Sis Smith feet were set upon a rock and her going was established. She retired after many years from Bellingrath Gardens and Homes She was a member of Mt Ararat Missionary Baptist Church, where she served diligently. Sis Smith was preceded in death by a devoted husband, William H. Smith Her parents, Luellen LeShore and Daisy Sledge. She had one beloved son, Charlie E. Staten. She leaves to cherish and nuture her life legacy four grandchildren, Tammy Staten, Charliedra(Allen) Johnson, Charlie(Serita) Staten, Sr. and Carmen(HenryIII) Nunn; all of Theodore, Al. nine great grandchildren; Charlie M. L. Staten, Allen Staten, Csrmella Staton, Thomas Weeks, Charlie L. Staten Jr., Ricky Black, Jr., Vivian C. Staten, Ruby A. Staten, and Dartania Z. Nunn, all of Theodore, Al.; three devoted first cousins, Louise Calhoun , Detroit, Mi., Andy (Bettye Walker, Mobile, Al. and Robert (Mary) Walker, Theodore,A L.; a wonderful extended family-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends Visitation Small's funeral Chapel, Theodore, Al December 5, 2008 from 4pm-6pm and Saturday December 6, 2008 at Mt Ararat Missionary Baptist Church, Theodore from 10am -iiam funeral hour.
