Obituary for Carolyn Jane Peyton

Carolyn Jane Peyton—a resident of Irvington, AL was born February 17, 1947 to the late Curtis Milton Peyton, Sr. and Geneva Whittiker Peyton A retiree of the MCPSS departed this life to an Everlasting life of Peace, Wealth and Complete Glorified Health on Thursday, October 13, 2016, at a local hospital. She was an active member of the Lighthouse Apostolic Holiness Temple where she served for many years as the chair of the Hospitality Committee, Banner Maker, Hand-painted Greeting Card Maker, Certified Senior Tutor with Laubach International; serving through the Greater Gulf Coast Literacy Council. She received an Outstanding Achievement Plague in 1990 for Sunday school participation. She loved to study and she loved learning, she is known for saying “I have an opinion, and I don’t mind sharing it”. She is survived by two sisters; Vidma A. Peyton and Tracey P. Joiner; three brothers; Curtis (Laura Mae) Larry (Mary Alice) and Pat Oliver Peyton; four blended sisters; Shirley (Edward) Woods, Joanne, Mary Anne (Joe) Augury “Cucumber” and Kennedy; three blended brothers; Raymond Ward, Tyrone (Margie) Peyton, and Joe (Lynn) Peyton; maternal aunts; Juanita Carl, Celestine Leland; maternal uncles; Richard Whittiker and Eugene Whittiker; paternal aunt; Maggie Williams all of Alabama. Her remains will lie in state Saturday, October 22, 2016 after 9am until the 11am funeral hour at Lighthouse Apostolic Holiness Temple 9901 Tom Waller Road, Grand Bay, Alabama 36541.
