Obituary for CHARLES CARTER, SR.

Charles Denton Carter, Sr.- A native and lifelong resident of Fairhope, AL was born January 4, 1937 to the late Columbus Carter and Willie Denton Carter. He was a member of Lebanon Chapel AME Church. He was preceded in death by 3 devoted sisters, Esther C. Stallworth, Dr. Theresa C. Goss, and Ruby C. Martin. Charles was a retiree from Scott Paper Company (Kimberly Clark) in Mobile, AL and served in the U.S. Navy for a number of years. He leaves to cherish his memory, devoted and caring daughter & son, Michelle (Geno) Nashville, TN & Charles II (Ingrid) Theodore; four grandsons, Gerrell & Jared Johnson, Nashville, TN, Charles III, Fairhope, Brandon Williams, Montrose & one granddaughter, Kylie Woodrow, Fairhope, Brother-in-law, Dr. James Goss, Clearwater, FL & nieces, Dianne Martin, Nashville, TN & Nikki Jones (Glenn) Montclair, NJ. The family wishes to thank all of his devoted care-givers, Mercy Medical Hospice Care Group, Marion D'Olive, Veola Pickett, Leslie Johnson, Jr., Tony, and Tykete Smith, Sharonia Martin, Hazel Smith, and Gayle Thicklen. Viewing will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2010 starting at 12:00 Noon, the family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Small's Mortuary, 24336 U.S. Highway 98, Fairhope, AL.
