Obituary for CLAY PETTWAY Jr.

Bro. Clay Pettway Jr.-- a native of Boykin, AL. and a resident of Mobile, born September 15, 1922 to the late Henderson and Berdie Tena Pettway, depatrted this life Tuesday, August 26, 2008. He served in the United States Army and was a solider of World War II. He was a longtime member of Greater Mt. Olive Baptist Church #2. He leaves to cherish his memories a devoted son, Roy W. (Juanita) Pettway, Mobile, eight devoted daughters two especially devoted, Linda Pettway and Patricia Pettway, both of Mobile, Mary Young, Bridgeport, CT., Ella (Matt) Matthews, Honnolulu, HI., Jean (Johnnie) Mosley, Stratford, CT., Helen (Gray) Butler, Jacksonville, FL., Delma (Calvin) Miles, Josephine (Michael) Tartt, both of Mobile, eighteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two devoted sisters, Bethenia Calhoun and Ida (Lindsey) Mixon, both of Mobile, three devoted brothers, Danny Pettway, Samuel (Mary) Pettway and Nahorace (Erma Mae) Pettway, all of Mobile, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends. His remains will lie in state at small's Mortuary Friday, August 29, 2008 from 1-8pm and Saturday, August 30, 2008 after 9am until the 11am funeral hour Greater Mt. Olive Baptist Church #2, Interment Gethsemane, Mobile. Dignified and professional services entrusted to Smalls Mortuary 950 S. Broad St. Mobile AL 36605.
