Obituary for Cleophas Packer

Cleophas Lloyd Packer-- a native of Monroeville, AL., and a longtime resident of Mobile, born August 9, 1935 to the late Luke and Susie Packer, departed this life Thursday, January 31, 2008 at a local nursing facility. He was a faithful member of Green Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a member of the Sunday School, Senior Usher, Male Chorus, Deacon and as an Associate Minister. Rev. Packer leaves to cherish his memories a loving and supportive wife, Hubert Lee Packer, five step-daughters, Theresa (Jimmy) Harrison, Helen (Rudolph) Hertz, all of Mobile, AL., Brenda (Larry) Wallace, Carolyn Robinson, both of North Charleston, SC., and Janice Bryant, Hartford, CT., three step-sons, James and Carl Martin, Bernard (Rhonda) Bryant all of Mobile, AL., three loving sisters, Mary Frances (Rev. Edward) Butler, Palo Alto, CA., Alfreda East, Montrose, AL., and Ella Bell Bullard, Mobile, AL., devoted cousin, Vernell Horn, Mobile, AL., sister-in-law, Inez Acker, Silver Springs, MD., nineteen grands, thirteen great-grands, two goddaughters, Nicki and Nicole Williams, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. His remains will lie in state at Small's Mortuary Friday, February 8, 2008 from 1-8pm and Saturday, February 9, 2008 after 9am until the 11am funeral hour Green Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Interment Gethsemane Mobile Cemetery. Dignified and professional services entrusted to Small's Mortuary 950 S. Broad St. Mobile.
