The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Clyde Hackworth can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence From: David Wedington
Condolence: Over 30 years ago I met a friend for life, my comrade in arms, my brother... Mr. Darryl A. Hackworth. He introduced me to his loving family, which of course included his father Mr. Clyde Hackworth, Sr. (respectfully... Pops). Now even though he might have sometimes forgotten my name, and affectionally referred to me as that fast-talking, city-slicker, or little-guy from up North; he truly welcomed me like a son. I am blessed and honored to have known him, and I thank God for connecting my family with his. So Family, please know we are praying that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ fill every void, and heal every hurt, as only He can. We love you! The Wedington’s

Condolence From: Mr. John Pate
Condolence: Clyde Hackworth Family,

Clyde was an amazing person! I saw Clyde working for Broadus Masonry many years ago on Springhill Baptist Church. I watched him work and he did as much or more than any two to three people that was working on the same crew. His work ethic amazed me, so I asked him one day if he ever needed a job to be sure to call me first. Broadus closed his business and Clyde took on a job with our company where he has been ever since. When he retired he still worked on the side for the company when we needed him and for my brother, Jack Pate. I will truly miss him, but the memories of working on several large projects with him will remain in my heart as we built good and quality buildings together which remain today as part of the landscape of Mobile and surrounding areas. Thank you all for letting us share part of Clyde's life as he will not be forgotten by myself or the employees of J F Pate & Associates Contractors.
