Obituary for Cornell Gooden
Cornell Gooden, age 74 passed away on Monday, January 18, 2016 at a local hospital. He was a graduate of Central High School Class of 1962. He worked for the Mobile County Public School System, Mobile Greyhound Track and the Banana Docks Café for many years.
He joined Christ at Greater Vision of Faith Outreach Ministries Covenant Connection Church.
Mr. Gooden is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years, Mrs. Easter Gooden; daughter, Charlene Gooden; stepson, Preston (Adrienne) Pettaway of Mobile, AL; four sisters, one devoted, Mildred Gooden, Dorothy Mae Gooden both of Mobile, AL, Ruthie Mae Moore and Helen Bolden, both of Chicago, IL; one brother, Christopher Gooden of Mobile, AL; two brothers-in-law, John Pettaway, Jr. and Phil (Joyce) Pettaway, both of Mobile, AL; a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bryant and Catherine Gooden.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2016 from 11am until the 1pm funeral hour at Greater Union of Faith Outreach Ministries, 463 Bayshore Ave. Mobile, AL. Interment will follow in Whispering Pines Cemetery, Eight Mile, AL.
