Obituary for David Anderson

David Lee Anderson, a 1983 graduate of Murphy High School, died Sept. 3 at a local hospital. He was 45. Anderson was a lifelong resident of Mobile. David was preceded in death by his grandmother Mrs. Nancy Anderson and brother Anthony Wallace. Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Charlie Bell Purifoy and Ronnie Purifoy; his father and stepmother, David Wallace and Elizabeth Wallace; seven devoted children, Jessica, Porsha, Shakira, Robert, Alexander, Gajuan and Shakeil Murphy all of Mobile, AL; two sisters, Gloria (Quint) Koger and Sonja Smith; and two brothers, Darrell (Joelika) Anderson and Booker (Kim) Johnson, all of Mobile. Six Aunts, Mary (Eddie) Bell, Carrie Scott, Loretta (James) Smith, Rachel Thomas, Alice Pruitt all of Mobile; and Maggie (Frank) Nelson of California. Five uncles Gregory Wallace, Joseph (Dorothy) Wallace, James Wallace of Mobile, AL. Larry (Brenda) Wallace of Charleston, SC and Johnnie (Joann) Wallace of Los Angeles, CA. One Godmother Mrs. Sophia Harris. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Viewing will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday at Small's Mortuary on South Broad Street. Visitation will be Saturday from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral at Crichton Church of God, 3106 Moffett Road. Burial will be in Gethsemane North Cemetery in Eight Mile.
