Obituary for Deacon Taylor

Deacon Roscoe Taylor was born November 4, 1938 to Lemmie Taylor, Sr. and Lubertha Taylor in Prichard, AL. He departed this life after a lengthy illness on March 17, 2009 at the age of 70. Deacon Taylor confessed Christ at an early age and joined Antioch Missionary Baptist Church under the Pastorate of Rev. Marshall C. Ezell, Jr. He was ordained a deacon in 1984 and served faithfully until he became ill. He was employed by Occidental Chemical for greater than 10 years until he resigned due to his illness. He was preceded in death by his parents Lemmie and Lubertha Taylor; three brothers, Robert, Erby and Franklin Lee Taylor; and two sisters, Minnie Lee Kennedy and Janice Montgomery. He leaves to cherish his memories his devoted wife, Orgengean Taylor; three daughters, Yvette English, Ingrid (Sam) Longmire, both of Mobile, AL and Marcia Lockett of Atlanta, GA; four sons, Desmond (Stacy) Taylor of San Antonio, TX, Le'Chedrick Taylor of Mobile, AL, Charles Lucy and Anthony Lucy; three brothers, Lemuel (Ezonia) Taylor, Faustina (Delores) Taylor, Epeval (Janice) Taylor, all of Mobile, AL; three sisters, Laura (Leroy) Crenshaw, Edwina Whigham, and Lorraine (Raymond) Ward, all of Mobile, AL.; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and other friends. Visitation will be held Monday March 23, 2009 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Small's Mortuary, 950 S. Broad Street Mobile, AL. and Tuesday March 24, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral hour at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church 350 Chandler Street, Prichard, AL. Interment to follow in Gethsemane Cemetery Mobile, AL. Dignified and professional services entrusted to Small's Mortuary, 950 S. Board Street Mobile, AL
