The Fabulous Ms. De’Launa Kion Powell Anderson, was born to Ms. Zolia Powell Anderson on October 21, 1991 in Mobile, AL. God, her Heavenly Father decided that it was time for her free spirit to receive its Wings on October 18, 2016. Ms. De’Launa developed a passionate desire as a skilled make-up artist and positively affected others in her community. Ms. De’Launa introspected on the idea to rename herself as De’Launa Von Teese, due to the influence of Dita Von Teese, an American dancer, costume designer, entrepreneur, and occasional actress. In comparison, the two enjoyed modeling and costume designing. De’Launa Von Teese progress towards the individualized opportunity To become a successful Make-up artist here in Mobile, in which she eventually would soar towards displaying her talented skills in other states. De’Launa Von Teese upcoming productions, better known as “The Make-Up MadHouse” has broadened across the City of Mobile where others have valued and respected the works of her progression. De’Launa Von Teese was preceded in death by her late great uncle, Hardie Peters, paternal grandmother, Dorothy Johnson, and a minimal hosts of late aunts, uncles and cousins. De’Launa Von Teese leaves to cherish her memories a loving and beautiful Princess Zaiyah Ili’yauna Powell; a devoted, nurturing and loving mother, Ms. Zolia Powell Anderson (Tyrell James); a devoted and loving sister, Jasmine Powell Anderson (Vincent Hendricks); an expecting nephew, Zaxton De’Laun Powell; two step-brothers: Tyrell James, Jr. and Tymetric James; her significant other, Jeffery Dennis; a beloved and caring grandmother, Margie Powell; paternal grandfather, Wilson Crawford; one aunt, Evelyn Powell Catlin (Donald Catlin); four uncles: Elbert Powell, Jr. (Kimberly Powell), Kenneth Powell (Tonia Powell), Quintin Powell (Pamela Reed) of Jackson, MS and Cedric Powell (Vemecia Horne); a devoted cousin/sister, Britney Smith; loving cousins: Tationna Avery, Yashita, Jaylen, Melia and Landyn Demings, and Renesha Crawford and all of the Crawford and Johnson Family; with a host of maternal and paternal aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.


Her remains will lie in state from 3-8pm on Friday, October 28, 2016 at Small's Mortuary, Mobile. A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2016 from 9am until the 11:00am funeral hour at the Little Flower Catholic Church, 2053 Government Street, Mobile, AL. Interment will follow in the Pine Crest Cemetery, Mobile, AL.
