Obituary for Delores Johnson Horton

Delores (Lois) Johnson Horton, a native of Mobile, Alabama, was born August 5, 1933 and exchanged this life for eternal joy on Friday, July 3, 2015. Delores was a graduate of Josephine Allen. Delores was preceded in death by her parents, Alphonse Johnson and Ernestine Olivia Johnson; her husband, Lawrence A. Horton, Sr.; four sisters, one brother, three brothers-in-law, and three sisters-in-law. She leaves to cherish her memories a devoted and loving son, Lawrence A. Horton, Jr.; twin sisters, Anniece Johnson of Cincinnati, Ohio and Janniece Johnson Curry of Denver, Colorado; one brother, Robert Johnson of Denver, Colorado; one sister-in-law, Sarah S. Horton of Mobile, Alabama; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, devoted cousin and caretaker, Mrs. Tanya A. Dumas; goddaughter, Mrs. Andrea Love Robinson, other relatives and friends. Her remains will lie in state on Thursday, July 9, 2015 from 1pm until 8pm at Small’s Mortuary, Mobile, AL. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 10, 2015 from 9am until the 10:30am funeral hour at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 1012 Adams Street, Rev. Montgomery Portis, Jr., Pastor and Officiating Minister.
