Obituary for D'ESTHER CECELIA MCGRUE

D'Esther Cecelia McGrue Gross-On November 1, 2010, D'Esther Cecelia McGrue Gross entered a peaceful rest. She was affectionately known throughout her community as "Ms. Ceil". D'Esther was born in Mobile, Alabama to the parents of Thelma and Curtis McGrue. She attended Heart of Mary Catholic School and was a graduate of Central High School. Cecelia was married to Mr. James Gross for twenty-two years. She attended Spring Hill College and took great pride in being a Home Health Care Provider. She parented, raised and adored three children Darryl McGrue, Jameson Gross and Jamie Gross. Jameson blessed his mother with six grandchildren Jaimelia Lawson, Jameson Lawson, Mishea Lilly, Jamiracle Lawson, Mikiah Lilly, Jasmine Gross and one great granddaughter Jamiya Wheat. She was loved by a vast amount of family and friends, some devoted Creola Ruffin, Carolyn Powell, Mable McGrue, Cassie Lawson, and Rose Cleveland. D'Esther also leaves two brothers Vincent McGrue and Norbert McGrue of Los Angeles, California. Last, but definitely not least, her faithful companion to the last moment, Mr. Scrappy Gross. The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. James Crumb and staff of the Coastal Neurological Institute. We also say thank you to Dr. Eddie Reed and staff of the Mitchell Cancer Institute. Visitation will be held Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Small's Mortuary Chapel, 950 South Broad Street, Mobile, Alabama.
