Obituary for Diana Harper

Diana  Harper
Diana Harper was born August 6, 1947 to parents Fred Ball Sr. and Martina Ball Ligon. She transitioned from this life to eternal life on December 28, 2018 at home with her caregiver/son, Charles Ball, Sr. Diana was predeceased by her parents, her brother Fred Ball Jr, and niece Stacey Ball Barker.

Diana was an active and faithful parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Parish until her time of illness. She loved to travel, cruise around the Caribbean, and spend time with her family. Diana had a heart of gold and would help anyone in need. She loved to listen to the blues and listen to gospel music. Most of all she loved God and her family.
Diana was in the first graduating class of Hillsdale High School, class of 1965. She attended Bishop State Community College and furthered her education at Alabama State University. She was proud to be a Hornet and graduated with a BS Degree in Education. Diana taught US History and Government at Jackson High School for 33 years until her retirement.

She leaves behind to cherish her beautiful memories, two loving sons: Charles (Monica) Ball Sr., and Sean Harper; Six grandchildren: Aline (Torey) Robinson, Florence Hansberry, Charles Ball, Jr., Damion Harper, Sr., Keyshawn Harper, and Shania Ball; She also leaves behind seven great grandchildren; One loving sister, Dottie Ball Willis; one niece, Jessica Willis; one nephew, Fred (Eudora) Ball III; One aunt, Regina Richardson, One uncle,George (Minnie) Ball. In addition to numerous cousins and friends who loved her dearly, Diana Harper also leaves behind her dearest and best friend Doris Freeman.
The family would also like to thank Springhill Hospice and Tameka Diamond for the care given to Diana Harper.
