Obituary for Eddie Lee Brooks Sr.

Eddie Lee Brooks Sr. was born on May 3, 1950 in Phenix City, AL to Hillie & Bessie Brooks. He transitioned from labor to his eternal home on Sunday, October 2, 2016. Eddie devoted his life to serving God and was a very faithful and active member of First Baptist Missionary Baptist Church of Baltimore Street where he served as a Trustee, Layman, Male Chorus, Combined Choir and Senior Choir member. He worked in retail sales at NFL Building Material and Supply in Daphne, AL. He owned and operated Eddie’s Local Moving Service and installed garage doors.

Eddie was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers; one sister; and one granddaughter, Kaitlyn Holloway. His namesake, Eddie Lee Brooks, Jr., followed him in death on Monday, October 3, 2016.

He leaves to cherish his sweet memories his loving and devoted wife, Mattie Bell Brooks; sons, Timothy (Penny) Brooks of Fortson, GA, Johnathan (Kristen) Holloway of Seoul, South Korea, Ryne Brooks of Mobile, AL.; daughters, Carolyn (Tony) Williams of Phenix City, AL, Kiwana Brooks, Samantha (Gerald) Stallworth of Mobile,AL, Keisha Andry (Tynario) Walton, of Atlanta, GA, LaRhonda (Lance) Likely of Dallas, GA, Kizzie Brooks of Phenix City, AL, and TaVonnica Cornner of Mobile, AL.; two sisters; two brothers; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren,nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

His remains will lie in state on Friday, October 7, 2016 from 1-8pm at Small’s Mortuary, Mobile. A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2016 from 9am until the 11am "Homegoing Celebration" at The First Baptist Church Of Baltimore Street, Inc. Church, 1200 Baltimore St., Mobile, AL. Interment will be in the Lawn Haven Cemetery, Theodore, AL.
