Obituary for Eddie L Smith

Deacon Eddie Lee Smith was born in Orville, AL on January 8, 1956. He moved to Mobile at a very young age. He departed this life suddenly on August 26, 2015. He was preceded in death by his dad, Archie Cole Sr. and his biological father, Essie Fail. He leaves to mourn his passing, a mother, Clara Cole; one son, Gregory (Shante’) Smith of Pascagoula, MS; three daughters, LaTonya (Pastor Wilfred) Lindsey-Hunter, Sr., LaShonda Smith and Charmaine (Elder Claude) Jones, all of Mobile; six brothers, Preston (Linda) Cole, Archie Cole Jr., both of Mobile, AL, Justin (Denise) Fail of Rex, GA, John Leshore of Orville, AL, Isaac Sojourner of Atlanta, GA and Karl (Yelba) Fail of Austell, GA; ten sisters, Henrietta Parker, Frances (Deacon Samuel) Pugh and Regina (Leland) Curry all of Mobile, AL, Betty Stewart of Buffalo, NY, Virginia Stevenson of Jonesboro, GA, Earline Wesson of Rex, GA, Thelma (Charles) Bumper of Anniston, AL, Brenda Leshore of Orville, AL, Sophia Holmes of Austell, GA, Felecia Golf of Lula, GA; seventeen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two close friends, Theresa Clark and Elbert Harrison; a longtime family friend and the mother of his children, Barbara Smith; a hosts of loving uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and close friends. His remains will lie in state on Friday, September 4, 2015 from 1pm until 8pm at Small’s Mortuary, Mobile, AL. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2015 from 9am until the 11am funeral hour at Little Welcome Baptist Church, 1516 Wolfridge Rd. Mobile, AL. Interment will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery North, Eight Mile, AL. DIGNIFIED AND PROFESSIONAL SERVICES ENTRUSTED TO SMALL’S MORTUARY, 950 SOUTH BROAD ST. MOBILE, AL. 36603.
