Obituary for Edward Mixon Jr.

Mr. Edward (Chicken) Mixon Jr. A native and longtime resident of Mobile, AL. He was born June 2, 1956 and departed this life on Thursday, September 1, 2009 at local hospital. He was a 1975 graduate of Williamson High School. He was also a 1980 graduate of Grambling State University of Baton Rouge, LA, where he was a member of Grambling Tigers Marching Band. He was a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Edward Mixon, Sr. and Jessie Mae Mixon. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 26 years Juanita Rencher Mixon. Two sons Matthew E. Mixon and Brandon A. Mixon of Mobile, AL. His sister Ella Mae Williams of Selma, AL. Two brothers Thomas Mixon of Cleveland, Ohio, Paul Mixon of Mobile, AL. His father-in-law Calvin Rencher Sr., and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. His remains will lie in state on Friday, September 4, 2009 at Small's Mortuary from 1:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. and after 11:00a.m. on Saturday, September 5, 2009 at the Faith Outreach Church of God of Deliverance, 171 Wexford Street, Mobile, AL 36605, until the 1:00p.m. funeral hour. Interment will follow in the Lawn Haven Cemetery.
