Obituary for Edward Williams

Edward Lee Williams-- a native of Chestang, AL. and a longtime resident of Mt. Vernon, AL., born June 9, 1932 to the late Jesse and Donnie Williams, exchanged this life for eternal life Sunday, February 15, 2009 at his home surrounded by love ones. A Veteran of the Korean War and an employee of thirty-five years for Alabama Power Company. He leaves to cherish memories a loving and devoted wife of fifty-six years, Dorothy Mae Williams, Mt. Vernon, four sons, Anthony, Fayetteville, NC., Darryl, Citronelle, AL., Reginald and Victor Williams, both of Mt. Vernon, AL., four daughters, Edna Johnson, Wagerville, AL., Yvonne Salters, Goldsburo, NC., Sophia Hart, Prince George, VA., and Shamika Williams-Gray, Mobile, thirty grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, two brothers, Joseph, Mobile, and Jimmy Williams, sister, Jesse Bea Wiley, both of McIntosh, AL. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. His remains will lie in state at Small's Mortuary Friday, February 20, 2009 from 1-8pm and Saturday, February 21, 2009 after 11am until the 1pm funeral hour Mt. Olive Primitive Baptist Church, Mt. Vernon, AL., Minister Victor Williams, Officiating Minister. Interment will follow in the Roper Cemetery, Chestang, AL. Dignified and professional services entrusted to Small's Mortuary, 950 S. Broad St., Mobile, AL.
