Obituary for Fredonia Ely

Fredonia Gibby Ely - a native of Barlow Bend, AL. and a resident of Mobile made her transition to eternal life on Monday, February 18, 2008. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, one sister and a grandson, Alexander La Charles Ely. She leaves to cherish her memories a very devoted husband, Charles M. Ely, Sr.; two devoted sons: Charles M. (Alberta) Ely, Jr., Donald R. (Sharon) Ely of Powder Springs, GA.; step-daughter, Mary Lois Pritchett of Flint, MI.; devoted grandchildren: Tiffany and Trenton Ely, DeVon and DeAntre Jones. Four sisters: Ruby Bass, Jackson, AL.; Earnestine Scott, Luvertia King and Cassie (Beanford) Perkins, one brother, Leo Gibby all of Mobile, eight sisters-in-laws, four brothers-in-laws, a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Special thanks to Infirmary West Hospice staff and doctors. Her remains will lie in state at Small's Mortuary, Friday, February 22, 2008 from 1p.m. - 8p.m. and Saturday, February 23, 2008 after 9a.m. until the 10a.m. funeral hour. Yorktown Baptist Church, 851 East Street, Plateau, and 1pm at Union Chapel Baptist Church in Barlow Bend, AL. Interment following at James Landing Cemetery. Rev. Christopher L. Williams, Sr. - Pastor and officiating minister. Dignified and Professional services entrusted to SMALL'S MORTUARY, INC. 950 South Broad St., Mobile, AL.
