Obituary for GEORGE BUDDY MORRIS

Mr. George "LiL" Buddy" Morris, born in Gosport, AL, January 18, 1937, the eldest son born to the union of Johnnie and Emma Morris. George, a lifelong resident of Mobile, AL, quietly drifted into eternal rest on Saturday, October 9, 2010. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife of 51 years, Faydene Lucille Williams Morris; five children, Juan Morris of Mobile, Al, Lockline Lafaye and Jennifer Morris of Atlanta, GA, Wanda and Felicia Thomas of Tacoma, WA; six grandchildren, Essence, Kelci, Raven, Eve, Romon, and David; two great-grandchildren; four sisters, Johnnie Mae Hunter and Rosina Howard of Mobile, AL, Aggie Williams of Hemet, CA, Janet (Herlis) Williams of Houston, TX; four brothers, Elbert, Marshall, Gregory (Geraldine) Morris of Mobile, AL, Walter (Barbara) Morris of Brooklyn, NY; seven sisters-in-law, Dr. Mary Ramirez of Amarillo, TX, Angelita Williams of Universal City, TX, Kimberly Lewis, Janet and Paulette Williams of Mobile, AL, Betty Williams of Corona, CA, Earlie Mae Morris of Norristown, PA; two brothers-in-law, Hosea Webster and Hilliard Williams of Mobile, AL; three aunts, Amanda Mose, Bell Collins, Helen Poe of Mobile, AL; aunt-in-law, Odette (Phillip) Tyus; two uncles; Melvin James and Emerson (Autherine) Morris of Mobile, AL and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. His remains will lie in state at Small's Mortuary, Friday, October 15, 2010 and the family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Visitation will be held Saturday, October 16, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral hour at the Bethel A.M.E. Church, 714 Savannah Avenue, Mobile, AL. The family will receive friends at 10:30 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral hour. Interment will follow in the Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens, Theodore, AL.
