Obituary for Geraldine Fields Buford

Geraldine Louise Fields Buford, a lifelong resident of Mobile, AL, passed this life on Tuesday, February 23, 2016.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank (Luella) Fields, Jr., husband, Lewis Bay Buford, Sr., and daughter, Patricia Luella Buford Jones.

She is survived by three daughters, Carolyn Ann (Robert) White, Betty Frances Buford and Sharon Louise Buford, all of Mobile; four sons, Lewis Bay Buford, Jr., Mobile, AL, Frank Edward (Virginia) Buford, Surprise, AZ, Gerald Lavonne (Deborah) Buford, Helena, AL and Larry Charles Buford, Mobile, AL. Grandchildren, two devoted, Kenneth Lavonne Buford, Atlanta, GA and Karen (LeRoy) Raine, Mobile, AL; sister, Sadie (Alcea) Braggs, Mobile, AL; brother-in-law, Edward Buford, Mobile, AL; sister-in-law, Oradell Cato, Detroit, Michigan, devoted nieces, Debra Allen, Marsellette Riggins and Lois Buford all of Mobile, AL; Nancy Mackey, Donna Johnson and Moira (Mark) Lyons all of Chicago, IL; Charlotte Johnson, Pensacola, FL and Gilda Moffett, Garland, TX; devoted cousin, Maxie Taite, Lower Peachtree, AL and Tyrone Johnson; Two devoted friends, Mary Moore and Carolyn Haynes, both from Mobile, AL; a host of loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, other family members and friends. A special thanks to Gordon Oaks Staff.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, February 27, 2016 from 8:30am until the 10am funeral hour at The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, 605 Donald Street, Mobile, AL 36617. Officiant, Rev. John George. Interment will follow at North Gethsemane Cemetery, 730 S. Shelton Beach Road, Eight Mile, AL.
