Obituary for Giovanni Azuri Randolph

Giovanni Azuri Randolph, "The Maestro" (as he was affectionately called), departed this life to be with his eternal Father on December 22, 2006, at a local hospital. He was an anointed saint of God, and a multi-gifted musician. He was a 1998 graduate of Mattie Thomas Blount High School. Giovanni served as a minister of music, and a musician of various churches and choirs throughout the gulf coast area. He was a DJ and announcer for WLVV 1410 and Gospel 900 WGOK. He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Martha Randolph WIlliams and Pearlie Mae Vines; his aunt, Bobbie Jean Vines; his uncle, Leroy Williams, Jr; and great-grandfather, M.G. Randolph, Sr. He leaves to cherish his precious memories, an Affectionate, Loving, and Devoted mother, Sis. Marilyn Jean Randolph; his father, Tommie Lee Vines, Sr.; his grandfathers, Leroy Williams, Sr. of Pine Hill, AL and Johnny Longmire; devoted great-grandmother, Mrs. Della M. Randolph; three sisters, one devoted, Courtney (Jamaal) Randolph-McCollins, Birmingham, AL; honorary sister, Karia Jeane' Powe-Adams, Mobile, AL; Erica Bryant, Baltimore, MA, and Tomika Vines, Mobile, AL; three brothers, Tommie B. Vines, Noah Vines, and Jeremiah Vines, all of Mobile, AL; seven aunts, one devoted, Katherine Vines-Matthews, and five uncles, Brandon "Jai" (Shauna) Williams, Ethel Vines, David Vines, Jr., Joyce Vines, Betty (Mike) Wallace, George (Gwen) Vines, Michael Vines, Teresa Vines, Brenda (Clarence) Henshaw, Darrel Vines, Debra Vines; great-aunts, two devoted, Eadie (Alvin) Sanderson, Sr. and Shirley Randolph-Matthews, Velma Chambers-Randolph and great uncles, Wilbert Randolph, Sr., Howard Randolph, Bessie Mae Tennor; honorary uncles and aunts, Shedrick and LaCynthia M. Adams, Melvin D. Matthews I, Marvin D Matthews, James and Joyce Rogers, and Dorothy Willis, great-great uncle, Elder Ernest (Inez) Hicks, Pinehill, AL and a goddaughter, Clarise Braziel, many nieces, one devoted, Regina Lumpkins, and nephews, cousins, two special cousins, Brian L. Sanderson, Sr. and Davia "Missy" Coleman, and many family members and friends. His remains will lie in state at Small's Mortuary Friday, December 29, 2006 from 1-8 pm. Also a memorial service for "The Maestro" will begin at 7:00 pm at the Christ Temple Apostolic Church, Bishop James E. Finley, Pastor. Visitation will be held Saturday, December 30, 2006 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. Homegoing Celebration at Christ Temple Apostolic Church, Bishop James E. Finley, Pastor, Elder Tom Alexander, officiating pastor. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Giovanni's home church, Bethesda Temple, 3087 Cottage Hill Rd. Mobile, AL, 36606, Elder Tom Alexander, Pastor. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery North. Professional, dignified services by SMALL'S MORTUARY, INC 950 South Board St., Mobile, AL.
