Obituary for Isaac Hooks

Bishop Isaac Hooks was born on September 12, 1933 in Bromley, AL to the late Archie and Lula Louvenia Hooks. Bishop Hooks entered eternal life at 6:45 a.m. on August 17, 2015 at his home. At an early age, he was a gifted musician, and soon became famously known as The Guitar Man. He was very skillful in playing the guitar, and was a pianist and organist. In his young adulthood he joined the Five Blind Boys of Alabama, a present day Grammy award-winning gospel group, as the lead guitarist. Bishop Hooks traveled all over the world playing the guitar. After attending Talladega School for the Blind, he became fluent in reading and writing braille. He was able to advance his knowledge in Biblical studies. Another calling God placed upon his life was to serve as a bishop. For 22 years, he was the bishop of the True Holiness Church of the Living God, Inc. located in Tensaw and Bay Minette, AL. Bishop Hooks was preceded in death by two brothers, RC (Annie) Hooks and Leon David Hooks; and three sisters, Malissa Walton, Octavia Peters, and Blanche Hooks. He leaves to cherish his precious memories, his wife Fannie Mae Hooks of 29 years of marriage; his son Bryan Tunstall; his grandson, Marcel Tunstall; his great grandson, Noah Tunstall; three sisters, Estella Walker (Monticello, NY), Edreana Snowden (Bromley, AL), and Martha Hooks (Bromley, AL); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, and many spiritual children. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2015 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am funeral hour at the New Jerusalem Pentecostal Holiness Church, 42869 Nicholsville Rd., Bay Minette, AL.
