Obituary for Jean Sledge

Jean Ruth Sledge-- a native of Mobile and a resident of Bromley, born January 4, 1926 departed this life Tuesday, June 24, 2008. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a longtime member of St. John's Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by husband Herman Sledge Sr. daughter, Barbara Sledge-Hale. She leaves to cherish her memories four daughters, one devoted and son-in-law, Madeline(Francis) Williams, Bromley, Carolyn(Carlos) Wright, Daphne, Priscilla(Gregory) Hobbs, Spanish Fort, Georgetta Sledge-Houlsen, Fairhope, five sons, Edward(Louise), Detroit, MI., Herman Jr.(Gaynell), Mobile, Horace and Paul(Gloria) both of Bromley, Harold(Teresa), Daphne, adopted son, Robert "Bo" Sledge, Bromley, sister, Mary McNiel, two brothers, Edward Singelton and Robert Spencer, all of Mobile, son-in-law, Albert Houlsen, Daphne, brother-in-law, Johnny(Mary) Hollis, Bromley, a host of grands, great-grands, great-great grands, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Services will be held Friday, June 27, 2008 after 10am until the 11am mass St. John's Catholic Church. Interment Blakely Historical Cemetery.
