Obituary for Joe Kirksey

Joe Lewis "Boot" Kirksey-- a native and resident of Mobile born September 4, 1932 departed this life Thursday, November 20, 2008 at a local hospital. A veteran of the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Felicia Kirksey, parents, Lewis and Fannie Kirksey. He leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife, Josie Lee Kirksey, nine children, Vincent Kirksey, Sharlene Williams, Alvin (Jacqueline), Lewis (Angela) Kirksey, Carolyn (Steve) Bolden, Cynthia (Raymond) Johnson, all of Mobile, Fannita (Allen) Billups, Enterprise, AL., Denisha Floyd, Sacremento, CA., and Kimble Carson, Birmingham, twenty-eight grandchildren, one devoted, LaMichael (Agnes) Kirksey, thirteen great- grandchildren, two aunts, Mary Bell Kirksey and Artelia McMillian, both of Mobile, brother-in-law, Morris (Hattie) Wilson, a host of cousins, family and friends. His remains will lie in state at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, after 9am until the 11am Mass, Interment will follow in the Gethsemane Cemetery Mobile. Dignified and professsional services entrusted to Smalls Mortuary 950 S. Broad St. Mobile, AL 36603.
