Obituary for John Edward Turner Sr.

Mr. John Edward Turner, Sr., 90, passed away on Friday, February 19, 2016 at his home in Daphne, AL, surrounded by his loving and devoted family. He was born on July 5, 1925 to the union of the late Mr. John E. (Christina Carlton) Turner in Mobile, AL. He was a member of the Bethlehem A.M.E Zion Church of Mobile, AL. He was also a long time employee for the Hancock Electrical Company for over 30 years

He was preceded in death by three sons, Larry Turner, John Turner, Jr, and Alexander Turner; one daughter, Margaret Pettaway; and one great-grandson, David O. Turner.

He leaves to cherish his memories, a very loving and devoted wife of 67 years, Mrs. Margaret Harris Turner; one daughter, Christine Turner; nineteen grandchildren; forty-nine great-grandchildren; twenty-six great-great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

Mr. Turner will have a public viewing on Friday, February 26, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Small's Mortuary, Mobile, AL. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral hour at the Small's Mortuary Chapel, 950 S. Broad Street, Mobile, AL 36603. Interment will follow in the Pine Crest Cemetery, 1939 Dauphin Island Parkway, Mobile, AL 36605.
