Obituary for JOSEPHINE MITCHELL-AUSTIN

Mrs. Josephine Lawyer Mitchell Austin, a native of Selma, Alabama and a resident of Mobile, Alabama, departed this life on Thursday, October 14, 2010. She expressed her belief in God by the life she lived and through her membership at the Greater Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband Daniel Austin; four daughters, Emma Perryman (Mobile, AL), Jackie Lawyer (Jasper, AL), Annette McKinstry (Montgomery, AL), and Jeanette Brown; eight sons, Mose Lawyer (Ft. Wayne, IN), William (Belinda) Perryman, Jr., Steve (Pat) Perryman, David Mitchell, Howard Mitchell, Jerome (Janice) Mitchell, Antonio (Lawonga) Mitchell, Kavin (Pat) Mitchell; one sister, Carrie Newton (Mont-gomery, AL); four nieces, one devoted, Joyce Kyles, three nephews, forty-two grandchildren, fifty-seven great-grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, Sammie Mitchell and Bertha Lawyer, close friends Lillie Edwards and Bessie Pendleton, and the Greater Mt. Carmel Church family. Her remains will lie in state at Small's Mortuary, 950 South Broad Street from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 22, 2010. Visitations will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2010, from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral hour at Greater Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, 1305 Montrose Street, Mobile, AL. Interment will follow in the Whistler Cemetery, Whistler, AL. DIGNIFIED AND PROFESSIONAL SERVICES ENTRUSTED TO SMALL'S MORTUARY, 950 SOUTH BROAD STREET, MOBILE, AL 36603.
